Pumpkin Hummus

Yield: 4-5 Cups

1 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Divided

3 Tablespoons Bazaar Seasoning

3 Cups Canned Garbanzo Beans

2 Cups Pumpkin Puree

½ Cup Roasted Red Pepper

½ Cup Tahini Paste

1 ½ Tablespoon Ground Cumin

1 Tablespoon Granulated Garlic

1 Tablespoon Sesame Oil

1 ½ Teaspoon Fleur De Sel

1 ½ Teaspoon Ground White Peppercorns

½ Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes

Once upon a time we could only find hummus in Greek and Middle Eastern restaurants. But today we can find it easily in the refrigerator section of most grocery stores. Like salsa and pesto, hummus has become part of our culinary lexicon. We have taken the dish a step further and included it in our repertoire of Farmhouse Fusion recipes by adding fresh pumpkin from our gardens to the mix. We love the intensity of flavor, color, and texture that pumpkins add. A lot of recipes for pumpkin hummus follow the pumpkin pie route when it comes to seasonings, but we prefer to take a more traditional savory approach by using MorningStar Bazaar Seasoning in ours. We’re confident that once you’ve tried our version, you’ll love it as much as we do.


Combine 3 Tablespoons olive oil and Bazaar seasoning in a small dish. Stir to combine and set aside for 30 minutes.


Place mixture in bowl of food processor and add remaining ingredients. Process until smooth. Taste and correct seasonings if necessary. When ready to serve, place hummus in a serving dish, drizzle top with extra virgin olive oil, and garnish with parsley and a sprinkling of the Mediterranean seasoning. Serve with fresh pita bread.
